Year 5 Rowling are taught by Mr Hussein

Welcome to Class 5!

We are a class of 31 unique, kind pupils that love learning at Mosley!

Our class is named after the famous author, J.K Rowling, who we all love! We read one of her famous Harry Potter books during our time in year 5 and love writing about it.

16 Rare "Harry Potter" Illustrations From The Books' Artist | Harry potter illustrations, Harry potter art, Harry potter.

Who helps us to learn?

Our teacher is Mr Hussein. He loves having fun with learning and always has lots of enthusiasm! His favourite part of the school day is History and PE. He loves being able to take learning outside and make it fun and active.

''I am Mrs McLoughlin. I support the children in Class 5 with their learning . I have 3 grown up boys and I am a musician. When I am not at Mosley, I teach music which I am very passionate about.''

Information about our Class:

  • PE takes place on Monday and Wednesday. Please ensure children come to school wearing their kit on these days.
  • We strongly encourage children to read regularly at home. Reads can be recorded in the reading diary by children themselves, but this must be signed by an adult to confirm.
  • 'At home' reads are counted up on a Wednesday so that we can achieve our 'rainbow badges'. Each time we achieve 25 reads - we are awarded with a new badge!

  • Spellings are tested on Monday. Once tested, new spelling are given out ready to be tested the following Monday.
  • Homework is given out on Tuesday and is due to be collected the following Tuesday. Homework is designed to take around 20 minutes in order for children to consolidate and practise their learning at home.
  • Times tables are tested every Monday. We use 'Times Table Rock Stars' at home and at school to develop our speed with times and divide questions!
  • Please arrive at school between 8:40am and 8:50am. Collection time for upper Key Stage Two children is 3:30pm.
  • Sometimes we participate in Forest School sessions on Thursday afternoons. These alternate half-termly with Science. You will be informed when Forest School sessions are going to take place.

Our learning this term is:
