The Mosley Academy is fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all its pupils and expect all staff, volunteers and visitors to share this commitment.
This role includes ensuring our children are safe from abuse and neglect, and are free from bullying. It also means they feel safe at school and know they can talk to a trusted adult in our school.
We are committed to giving our children the skills to keep safe at home and school and often invite in visitors to support this. We want our children to have the skills to challenge gender stereotypes and to recognise that abuse of any kind is never acceptable.
The teaching of online skills is an essential element of our curriculum and we give children the skills to keep safe online and to be able to deal with any incidences of bullying that may occur online. This is not only taught through our PSHE and RSHE scheme (Jigsaw) and our computing curriculum but also as an integral part of our safeguarding curriculum. We mark Internet Safety Day in February every year with a real focus on teaching children how to stay safe online and make sensible choices.
As a school we recognise that safeguarding against radicalisation is no different from safeguarding against any other vulnerability. At The Mosley Academy all staff and visitors are expected to uphold and promote our core British Values. All staff receive Prevent training and a risk assessment is in place for this.
