Year 1 Jeffers are taught by Mrs Baxter

Welcome to Class 1!

We are a class of 28 wonderful pupils. We are so excited to continue to develop as learners. Our favourite parts of the school day are learning something new, playing with our friends, challenging ourselves and creating and building! We love having a mixture of adult led activities and enhanced provision to support our learning!

Who helps us to learn?

Mrs Baxter is the Year 1 Class Teacher

Mrs Baxter loves teaching Year 1! Seeing imaginations spark and seeing the world through a 5 and 6-year-old lens is truly wonderful! Mrs Baxter has been teaching at Mosley since 2018 and has enjoyed teaching every year group through her career. Mrs Baxter got married in 2022 and has two lovely young boys. She loves thinking about ideas in a different way and enjoys making up a song to support our learning. Why not ask her about her part-whole model dance? Mrs Baxter is passionate about bringing play and continuous provision to Year 1 and enjoys supporting the transition from Early Years.

Mrs Travers is the Year 1 Teaching Assistant
This is our teaching assistant, Mrs Travers. She is very cheerful and loves helping us to be the best that we can be. Mrs Travers has supported children in Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2, but has been working in the Early Years at Mosley for the past 4 years. She is now going to be working in Year 1 and will bring a wonderful fun and nurturing atmosphere to our classroom.

New for 2023/24:

Mrs Baxter and Mrs Travers worked hard during the summer holidays to create our very own Class 1 Outdoor Area. Here are some pictures of what it looks like. The children enjoy accessing the water tray table and sand table to help support their learning and play.

  • PE takes place on a Wednesday and Friday. Please ensure children come to school in their kit on these days and that any earrings have been taken out before arriving at school.
  • We change our reading books on Mondays. Please ensure children have their reading books and diaries in their book bags daily. Also, remember to record 'at home' reads in reading diaries so that we can continue to achieve our reading badges!

  • Spellings and homework are sent out on a Friday. Please bring these back in the following Friday.
  • Please arrive at school between 8:40am and 8:50am. Collection time is 3:20pm in Key Stage One.

Our topic this term is...

Jack And The Beanstalk - Toons Mag

Please read our Overview to see what we will be learning in Spring 2.
